The Farm
Ross Haven Farm is comprised of 39 acres of cleared and wooded farmland with 3 stream-fed ponds. It is conveniently located in southern Worcester County Massachusetts, just two miles from the intersection of the Mass Pike (I-90) and Route I-84. Its rural setting in close proximity to major highways is well-suited to the task of caring for horses that have transported in from across New England in a peaceful and spacious environment.

Equine Housing
Ross Haven Farm has two main equine barns. The Medical Barn has nine rubber-matted stalls, and the Boarder's Barn has seven earthen-floored stalls. Dust-minimized Canadian wood shavings are used exclusively for bedding, although specialized needs for alternative bedding can be accommodated. All stalls have windows providing views of adjacent grazing land, and most stalls allow occupants to easily see neighboring stalled horses. A third barn, separate from the main facility, provides self-contained quarantine/isolation facilities for several horses (up to 4).
We offer a variety of turnout options to suit the need of most horses. Individual medical paddocks are available, as well as medium-sized paddocks and large pastures for group turnout. Most paddocks are grass, though some medical paddocks have dirt footing.
Nutrition
We stock a broad range of concentrates and complete feeds, as well as premium quality hay and forage substitutes. We are happy to accommodate feeding nutritional supplements. Many of our patients have special dietary needs, which we are pleased to work with at the direction of your veterinarian. Rehabilitating horses may benefit from having a nutritional consultation with a veterinary nutritionist, which is a service we are able to arrange at your request.
Exercise
Grass footing, blue sky, and fresh air, along with encouraging words, can do wonders for the mental health and physical well-being of the recuperating equine patient. With few exceptions, we believe it is important for all horses to have access to the outdoors for at least a few minutes of exercise each day. Our barns are located immediately adjacent to in-hand walking and grazing areas for this reason, and these services are available to most patients.
For horses further along in their rehabilitation process or those allowed greater freedom of movement, we are also able to provide well-defined exercise regimens in addition to regular turnout. In-hand and work under saddle can be provided by our own experienced and patient riders. There are also a number of riding and walking trails on and off the property where you can enjoy time with your horse during visits.
